Hafan y Mor?.... I couldn’t possibly!

A group of us (2 couples with a four-year-old boy and a one-year-old boy) stayed in a ‘Silver Luxury’ apartment for 3 nights at the end of August 2006. We wanted to stay near to other friends who were also holidaying at a local caravan site. We booked on the internet at quite late notice and were expecting a 3 bedroom apartment (1 double and 2 twin rooms with kitchen/lounge and bathroom). Our only positive for the whole stay was that we had an apartment which looked like it was originally 2 but now knocked through, so we had 2 double rooms, 2 twin rooms, 2 bathrooms a kitchen/diner and a lounge. We did notice a general smell of damp throughout the apartment when we walked in. The positive feeling lasted only a short while as we started discovering the negatives. On making

never again

Anyone reading this who are planning on going to this haven holiday park BEWARE!!! This is how bad it was, myself, husband and our 3 children arrived on the sat we were booked for a week and were back home on the Monday(would have come home Sunday) I thought it would get better(it didn't). We were staying in what's called a rory caravan, when we booked this holiday, which cost us over £700, the picture showed a very different story there were no rory the tiger bedding for the children or rory curtains in their bedrooms, so really we paid that money for a tiger painted on the outside of the caravan GREAT!!! The caravan was not clean we found chips behind the TV, the bedding was so old and worn I’ve seen dishrags in better shape. The worst thing was finding tiny black bugs on

Very Average

Returned this weekend after a week. Everywhere you go they are selling caravans and encouraging you to buy. Park food was poor, if you don't like fast food you'll struggle. Take plenty of money, even the Park entertainer is running a sideline every night selling this that and the other to the children. Every night the kids need a pound for Bingo, then a pound for a raffle ticket then a couple of pound for the latest entertainers must have. Pool was very dirty and in need of refurbishment. Average holiday kids had a terrifiic time but they are only 5 and under. Would probably not go there again.

Beautiful Park

My husband and I have just returned from a long weekend break (19 May - 22 May) with our 3 children who are aged 4, 8, 12. We had stayed in our first Haven Caravan park last year and enjoyed it so decided to try a different location this year. This park is a bit in the middle of nowhere, however on the site is arcades, bowling, entertainment with shows for kids and adults, Burger King, Ice Cream and sweet shops, playgrounds, go karts, sports zone with football and basket ball courts, little supermarket and most impressive a splash zone with wave pools, giant slides, wavy slides, lazy river etc. The kids loved it. The caravan we stayed in was clean and had everything we needed, it had heaters in every room so we were plenty warm enough (as this had been an issue in the last

Thank you so much for your lovely review, especially your kind comments about the team here. We are lucky to have a large beautiful site, with plenty to do, and all accommodation is situated within a twenty minute walk through the site to the beach. It sounds as though you found plenty to do, but when you decide to visit us again, there is a bus stop at the main gate, and we are within 10 minutes of Criccieth and 5 minutes of Pwllheli, also near by are Caernarfon, Bangor, and further afield is Llandudno. We look forward of seeing you again soon

Cheap, but still a disappointment

Stayed in caravan for a week. Caravan not properly cleaned and had some minor maintenance problems, but adequate. We made mistake of goig for half board option - truly awful food - it was like something out of 1970s Butlins - chips with everything, lowest quality ingredients possible, also cheaper on the door than if booked in advance. Childrens menu was chicken/fish/turkey nuggets with chips beans/spaghetti hoops all week. ALl of the food options on site were very poor qualityl Park is large, but very tired and needs lots of updating. Large swimming complex was a real disappointment; dirty, crowded, slides unavailable, outside pool not working and broken lockers. Entertainment was all about loud music, bingo and beer. Cabaret acts were poor and laughably low budget It

Hafan no more - Do not stay here

We had a terrible time. It was our first time to Haven and we were very disapointed, we left after 3 days even though we paid for 7. Do not go half board because the food is very very poor. The rude counter staff just slop the food onto your plate, it was running with grease. The coffee machine never worked, so we took it in turns to wait until it was fixed before we got our food. The 'resturant' spelt like bleach and damp, truly horrible. The room smelt damp and the shower was so small, I am a size 10 and found it hard to get into the portacabin style shower. Be careful not to use too much shampoo because the shower is more of a drip drop on your, 'depressed that you have made this your summer holiday destination', head. The not full size 'snooker' table room is only

Enjoyable

I stayed at this park for 3 nights during May 2005. Ideal for those looking for a relaxing, lively break or to use the site as a base in a great location. Popular with families and couples alike. Kids entertainment complex and a child friendly adult complex opposite. Super swimming pool with great slides if thats your thing. We paid for half board, the food was ok but the serving times were very limited especially if you have been out all day, it was quite a rush to be back for dinner. The on site supermarket was quite well priced. Bar prices in the entertainment venues were very reasonable. A very handy location to get out and about from, Porthmadog is less than 30 minutes away and Pwllheli is about 10 minutes away. Enjoy.
